BJJ Wire Choke

This is a Clockwork BJJ in NYC main meal and boy o boy am I feeding myself with this. My training partners are saying that this is my signature move. For some reason, this move speaks to me and I am not only hitting it, I have begun to teach it to those that I execute on. Click on the page to view all pages. Wire Choke

Closed Guard Over hook Series

Another series of movements that works with both GI and No Gi. In fact, I have tapped to this series numerous times by my training partners, knowing its coming and not able to defend in time. That’s how powerful it is. I have begun to really incorporate it into my game and also have been teaching it to blue belts that are interested. The only difference is the reaching behind his elbows to pull him down, some players under hook. Click the page to view all pages.

Closed Guard Over Hook Defense

This defense is battle tested. I got caught in the over hook during my second tournament and the guy was going for the triangle. I escaped successfully. Click the page to view all pages.Closed Guard Over Hook Defense

Scissors Sweep Push Knee

This is my all time favorite part of the sweep: pushing the knee. With knee injuries, I feel my legs are weaker than most and the classic sweep is a challenge. However, the pushing the knee works all the time. In fact, I did this on a 245 pound brown belt and he went over like a light weight. We were both shocked. Tom Leg Game

Tom Leg Game
This is one of the most creative leg games in BJJ. Tom has learned and perfected a bottom leg game, due to injuries preventing him from executing his dynamic top passing game. He keeps his opponents away, “makes them pay” if they decide to pass and ultimately sweeps them and takes his top position, allowing for his injuries not to detract him from being highly competitive. That is what BJJ is all about. (click page to view all pages)

Tom Foot Lock

Okay folks, here it is. This is what you have been waiting for. Tom is currently a black belt at Clockwork BJJ in NYC under Sensei Josh Griffiths. As a blue belt, for some reason, Tom developed his foot lock and began tapping EVERYONE with it. In fact, as a purple belt, he entered the Pan American games at age 60 and competed against the 45 year olds and tapped the number 2 ranked player with his foot lock. The only tweak here is the last photo was eliminated where Tom’s elbow is under his body and his right shoulder is tucked under his body also, so his left hip is facing up. to finish the move with a vice-grip execution. Shin To Shin Slide In Shoulder Roll Sweep

Love shin to shin and this is one of the more basic moves that my brain can process. The finish is similar to sit up guard and thats why I can process this. Click the page to view all pages.

Shin To Shin Sweep #1

I hit this one day against a good purple belt 3X in a row, testing the validity and we laughed that it worked. This sweep speaks to me and for some reason, I understand and can process it.

Shin To Shin Sweep To Foot lock

While this sweep has tremendous merit, there are points in time of the sweep that I find my opponent can mount me. This series has to really be drilled and all the perfections addressed. The coaches demonstrating this series are really good and legit, its just my brain has a hard time processing the moves until I drill it hundreds of times. However, that is why I posted it, for us to drill and perfect. Not every move will sink in the first time you try it. Click the page to view all pages.
