First student to receive this certification on June 16 2014 is David Toj, a Junior at IHS. David attended an Internship lasting 12 weeks of practicing conditioning and boxing 4 days a week for 3 hours a day.
Now that David is Level 1 Conditioning and Boxing certified, David charges $40 per personal training session and each session is one hour. David charges $25 per personal training session for teachers and each session is one hour.
In order for David to be certified Level 1, he attended 144 hours of hands on instruction from Coach Allen, in groups of no more than 4.
One of Davids goals is to work with young immigrants who come over from his native country Guatemala. There is a Consulate General of Guatemala in New York on Park Avenue. If the Guatemala Consulate will sponsor David, he will work with youths after school and teach them boxing and conditioning so they can have a sense of self-esteem, focus better, behave in school and get straight A’s on their report cards. It worked for David so we know it will work for others. Plans for this sponsorship will be announced at a later date.
