12 Angle Attacks
Stances
Attention – hands at sides.
Open leg ready – 1 hand 45% angle.
Front Stance – front hand 45% front leg forward.
Striking – the drill using one hand
1 and 2 – left and right temple.
3 and 4 – left and right shoulders.
5 – stomach or groin.
6 and 7 – left and right side of chest.
8 and 9 – left and right knees.
10 and 11 – left and right eyes.
12 – vertical strike to top of head.
Defense against a strike
1 and 3 – pivot 45% counter clockwise. Raise right stick and block. Free hand checks attackers stick or hand. Right hand strikes under to stomach using butt end of tip.
2 and 4 – pivot 45% clockwise. Raise right stick and block. Free hand checks attackers stick or hand. Right hand pulls back then strikes forward to face or body with tip.
5 – side step to right and inside low block. Free hand grabs opponent’s stick. Right hand strikes under to groin using tip or butt end.
6 and 10 – same as 1 and 3 except middle blocks.
7 and 11 – same as 2 and 4 except high blocks.
8 – reverse low block to hand or stick. Turn clockwise.
9 – low block to hand or stick. Turn counter clockwise.
12 – high block. Free hand grabs opponent’s hand. Step to right and strike had with right hand tip or stick.
Parry
Inside defense against right punch – execute right inside parry. Left hand grabs opponent’s right hand. Right hand retracts and strikes.
Inside defense against left punch – execute left inside parry. Right hand grabs opponent’s right hand. Left hand retracts and strikes.
Outside defense against right punch – execute left outside parry. Right hand grabs opponent’s right hand. Left hand retracts and strikes.
Outside defense against left punch – execute right outside parry. Left hand grabs opponent’s right hand. Right hand retracts and strikes.
